Join Jamaicans all over the globe and show your support for Jamaica on our Independence

Day (August 6th) by wearing clothing/shoes with the colors of the Jamaican flag, Green, Black and Gold (Yellow). We are aiming for people all over world to wear Green, Black and Yellow for this celebration every year.

Jamaica has influenced the world and most recently one of our countrymen (Barrington Irving) became the youngest person to fly solo around the world. (See January 1st post "2007 The Good, The Bad, The Ugly") He also was the first black person to fly solo around the world. Join millions of people all over the world in this symbolic celebration and let them know it is Jamaica Independence Day.

Each color in the flag is symbolic: the black stands for hardship, the green for both hope and the fertile land, and the gold for wealth and sunshine. (Original)

Black symbolizes the strength and creativity of the Jamaican people ; Gold, for natural wealth and beauty of sunlight; and Green stands for hope and agricultural resources. Superdee and Ricky Hype presents the 3rd “Year to Year All White Affair” THIS Sunday!

On Sunday, May 25th, it’s all about Superdee of Youth High Power alongside Ricky Hype as they present the 3rd “Year to Year All White Affair”. The promoter who brought Cleveland the ‘Blue and White Affair’ is raising the bashment bar with a bigger venue and even bigger sounds.

This year’s event has a new location moving from 4U2B in Euclid, to the grand, spacious Club Center (located at 8800 Woodland Avenue). The bigger venue can come as a welcome change as the All White Affair will feature mega sound from Jamaica, Synemaxx (www.myspace.com/synemaxx). Other sounds will be provided by YHP (with Superdee and King John), Star Temple (with Ricky Hype), Young Hawk (with Jamie Hype) and Sample Jack with (DJ Lava Ranks).

The All White Affair marks the beginning of the season as we head into a slew of bashes and events for the Summer. The All White Affair always brings out the crowd, dressed in their ‘pure’ best. This is a guaranteed night for dancehall celebrities and veterans alike!

Don't have any white you say? You still have time to get to the nearest boutique or even seamstress to get you RED (or should I say WHITE) Carpet Ready! You all knew it was coming !!

Come early, stay late, you don’t have to work Monday, so see you there!
